Contract Opportunity: Junior-Intermediate Interior Designer

Potential to transition to a full-time role

Seeking a talented Intermediate Interior Designer to join our team on a contract basis, with the potential to grow into a full-time position. We are a boutique interior design studio specializing in high-end residential projects, creating thoughtful, functional, and beautifully detailed spaces for our clients. Our work is rooted in a practical, yet highly creative approach to design, and we value collaboration, innovation, and attention to detail.

About You

You are a skilled designer with 2+ years of experience in residential interior design, with a strong eye for detail and a passion for creating refined, functional interiors. You thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy problem-solving, and can confidently manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality design standards. You are resourceful, adaptable, and excited to contribute to a growing firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in all phases of interior design projects, from concept development to contract admin.

  • Develop detailed construction drawings, millwork drawings, and design presentations

  • Research and source materials, finishes, and furnishings

  • Create and maintain specification sheets and our Client Dashboard (We use Programa) outlining and tracking selected finishes and materials

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Interior Design, working towards your NCIDQ certification.

  • 2+ years of experience in interior design, specializing in high-end residential projects

  • Proficiency in Vectorworks 2D (mandatory), and 3D (an asset)

  • Strong design and detailing abilities, with an innovative and practical approach

  • Proficiency in SketchUp, Enscape, and InDesign

  • Strong knowledge of BC Building Code and local permitting processes (an asset)

  • Architecture and/or construction background is an asset

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and resourcefulness

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Valid driver’s license preferred (travel to site will be necessary)

About our Office

  • Our studio space is in the Rockbay area of Victoria BC, however are amenable to a hybrid working dynamic with in-office collaboration and project reviews on a weekly basis.

  • We have a friendly office dog, and work above a fabulous ice-cream shop!
