Contract Opportunity: Junior-Intermediate Interior Designer
Potential to transition to a full-time role
Seeking a talented Intermediate Interior Designer to join our team on a contract basis, with the potential to grow into a full-time position. We are a boutique interior design studio specializing in high-end residential projects, creating thoughtful, functional, and beautifully detailed spaces for our clients. Our work is rooted in a practical, yet highly creative approach to design, and we value collaboration, innovation, and attention to detail.
About You
You are a skilled designer with 2+ years of experience in residential interior design, with a strong eye for detail and a passion for creating refined, functional interiors. You thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy problem-solving, and can confidently manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality design standards. You are resourceful, adaptable, and excited to contribute to a growing firm.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in all phases of interior design projects, from concept development to contract admin.
Develop detailed construction drawings, millwork drawings, and design presentations
Research and source materials, finishes, and furnishings
Create and maintain specification sheets and our Client Dashboard (We use Programa) outlining and tracking selected finishes and materials
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Interior Design, working towards your NCIDQ certification.
2+ years of experience in interior design, specializing in high-end residential projects
Proficiency in Vectorworks 2D (mandatory), and 3D (an asset)
Strong design and detailing abilities, with an innovative and practical approach
Proficiency in SketchUp, Enscape, and InDesign
Strong knowledge of BC Building Code and local permitting processes (an asset)
Architecture and/or construction background is an asset
Exceptional problem-solving skills and resourcefulness
Strong organization and time management skills
Valid driver’s license preferred (travel to site will be necessary)
About our Office
Our studio space is in the Rockbay area of Victoria BC, however are amenable to a hybrid working dynamic with in-office collaboration and project reviews on a weekly basis.
We have a friendly office dog, and work above a fabulous ice-cream shop!
